Sources: Cloud9 considering multiple changes.
Sources close to Rush B Media have informed us that Cloud9 will bench both Daniel "vice" Kim and Maikil "Golden" Kunda Selim. Sources also said that Cloud9 is considering former NRG in-game leader Damian "daps" Steele and Canadian rifler Tyson "TenZ" Ngo to replace them. It is unclear at this time if the North American organization are considering even further changes to a lineup that has failed to impress for some time now.
Cloud9 has faced several struggles in the past year as they have been unable to field a consistent roster following Jake “Stewie2k’s” departure for MIBR back in March of 2018. Since then, the team has brought in several stand-ins like Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro, Martin “STYKO” Styk, and even used Ismail 'refrezh' Ali for an event while Golden was out ill. For the most part, the team appeared to be doing just fine and even made it to the Top 16 at the IEM Katowice Major, securing them an appearance in the Top 24 for the Starladder Berlin Major. However, it was for naught as Zellsis, Robin "flusha" Rönnquist, and Fabien “kioshima” Frey have all departed from the team for various reasons. More recently, Cloud9 lost to New Identity and The Quest in the NA Minor Closed qualifier, resulting in the Boston Major winners failing to make it to the Major for the first time in two years. The current lineup has also experienced a significant amount of trouble as they have failed to beat a HLTV Top 20 since their five man lineups inception. Golden only returned to the starting lineup in March and vice was added to the core in April. Daps was benched by NRG just six short days ago and if brought on will be looking to once again rebuild a team into a contender in North America. TenZ most recently has been standing for South African organization ATK in online qualifiers. According to what sources have said, the Cloud9 roster will be as follows:
Tyson "TenZ" Ngo
Damian “daps” Steele
Timothy “autimatic” Ta
Will “RUSH” Wierzba
Rene “cajunb” Borg Update: Cloud9 have responded to our request for comment stating "We haven't signed anyone yet, will confirm with you if we have more news.".
