Rapid Reactions: NiP Lekr0

Instead of dropping one of the team’s veteran players again, the Ninjas have decided to remove AWP player William “draken” Sundin.

With interviews describing how draken did not fit the team’s playstyle anymore, entry-fragger REZ was quoted as saying, "We want to play a way where draken is more supportive, static.” (HLTV). The friendship between players seemed too strong to be broken, but the team has decided that it was time to make yet another pivotal change. It was clear that the style of AWP play that draken brought to the team no longer fitted their needs, and they have chosen to take a different route with their roster for their coming events, as well as the not so far minor qualifiers.

This move makes the new Ninjas in Pyjamas:

Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund Fredrik “REZ” Sterner Dennis “dennis” Edman

Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson Faruk “pita” Pita (Coach)

The in-game leading style of dennis and coaching structure of pita may have been what changed how each player of the team fit into the puzzle. Pita explained that NiP “failed to find the right mix” in relation to how the roles were set with draken in the team. However, it must be said that draken was one of the Swede’s secret weapons for quite some time. Most would agree that when you saw NiP in the top it was when draken was having one of his lights out matches, leading the charge of the team in the scoreboards.

Seeing as none of the other players in this team have taken up such a responsibility on a consistent enough basis to warrant them on the big green gun, it would only make sense for f0rest to return to the primary AWP role once again. Lekr0 being versed in both the lurk and entry roles means that the team has some more versatility in what they want to do, as GeT_RiGhT may be able to change the way he plays up a little more now. The allowance the team has to make more plays has been opened up by the rifling power Lekr0 has, but weakened by the lack of aggressive AWP presence that draken brought to the team.

The Pyjama’d players have been noted as to taking a liking to Lekr0 and have hoped to acquire him for quite some time now. With his very short career on the Fnatic bench, Lekr0 will be returning to playing actively at the upcoming CS:GO Asia Championships in Shanghai in less than two weeks time. With the strongest competition in the event being the StarSeries Season 5 champions Natus Vincere, the Ninjas look to make a clean placing in this event, gunning for the finals at the least.
