Ptr to Trial With Denial
According to sources close to both Rush B Media and Dust2.us, Peter "ptr" Gurney is set to go on trial with Denial starting with IEM Sydney qualifier as their potential new AWPer. The news comes after the organization announced they were re-entering the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene by picking up the financially struggling ex-Bravado roster. A rising South African team that most notably placed 2nd at DreamHack Open Winter 2018. Ptr will be filling in for Dimitri "Detrony" Hadjipaschali who did not follow his former teammates to the new organization.
The 28 year old NA player is no stranger to the game, most notably playing for NRG, compLexity, and Dignitas in previous years. However, in recent months, he has been struggling to find a permanent home, a problem that may soon be over. This is only a trial but assuming all goes well in the qualifier the experienced AWPer will yet again have an opportunity to try and shine on a permanent team.
Denial was under fire back in 2017 after allegations arose of payment troubles and this will be their first CS:GO team since the organization's new CEO decided to revive the name back in December. Denial are looking to re-create their image by stepping back into the CS:GO spotlight and are hoping to redeem themselves of their past mistakes with up and coming South African talent from Bravado as well as experienced NA player ptr.
The new Denial roster will be as follows:
Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek
Rhys "Fadey" Armstrong
Ruan "ELUSIVE" van Wyk
Johnny "JT" Theodosiou
Peter "ptr" Gurney
Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen (coach)
