German-based G2 Esports has been quick to make changes following a less than stellar showing at the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019. As previously reported by 1pv.fr's neLendirekt, G2 Esports is set to move on from Lucas "Lucky" Chastang and Richard "shox" Papillon, with the latter's likely destination Team Vitality. Making the rounds on Monday were leaked screenshots of a practice server, allegedly showing Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey alongside fellow G2 players Kenny "kennyS" Schrub, François "AmaNEk" Delaunay, Audric "JaCkz" Jug, and the aforementioned Lucky. While Rush B Media was unable to verify the authenticity of the server and the screenshot itself, 1pv's neLendirekt addressed the rumors through a tweet saying;

"There's the rumor about kio playing with G2 until they sign hunter and nexa turning around the french scene for a week kinda. Sounds like it's happening as they play with him on pracc instead of shox. So he will probably play with them tomorrow and maybe at ESL NY."

Rush B Media has been able to confirm through various sources that the former Cloud9 player

is set to stand-in for the French squad in place of shox for the upcoming ESL One NY and IEM Beijing Qualifiers. Shox will not be participating as he is reportedly on his way to Vitality. Additionally, kioShiMa will not be standing in for long within the French squad as G2 continues its interest in Nemanja "nexa" Isaković and Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač, the two emerging stars from CR4ZY. Carlos "ocelote" Rodríguez is intent to secure the services of the two players and has made it a priority to bring them into the fold.

The three previous lineups including kennyS and shox have all fallen flat in big tournaments. Of the nine big tournaments the duo played together since June of 2018, their best big event result was second at ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals. The other eight events they placed 5th-6th or worse. With performances like that, it was only a matter of time before the two players went their separate ways.

With kioShiMa’s addition, the G2 lineup is temporarily:

Kenny "kennyS" Schrub

François "AmaNEk" Delaunay

Audric "JaCkz" Jug

Lucas "Lucky" Chastang

Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey
